Try swinging the club like Phil does. There is something to be said for an extra long back swing. Not only does an extra long swing have more potential energy, it also, on occasion, adds some rhythm to a otherwise choppy swing... Try it you might like it.

Golfers take this tip with a grain of salt... This tip is for hitting the really long ball. I mean the long ball that will get you next to Zuback...
The move I am talking about is a big forward/lateral movement towards the target. Almost as if you are hitting a Happy Gilmore drive, but not quite. Drive your hips and knees down the target line and hold your hands back, at the last second whip the club at the ball and watch it fly....

One thing that I see almost all my friends doing wrong is falling back as they swing forward. Ending up with all their weight on their back foot... Falling back is a very common and deadly attribute of a poor golfer... This fall back move leaves you about a 1% chance of returning the club to a normal position at impact... I urge my friends and anyone with this same problem to take a page out of Gary Player's book and practice or even play golf by walking your back foot towards the target after you hit your shot.

After you have become flexible you must now do something that most people hate... Practice, practice, practice, and then practice some more... Repetition is the mother of all things coveted in a golf swing... speed, accuracy, timing, confidence and long straight drives...
So go to the range and hit 500 balls in a row, with your driver... (talk to your doctor first) You will be surprised at how exhausted you are the next day. You will fatigue muscles you rarely use... Most conventional teaching philosophy says not to hit one club this many times, but I think it is a good way to build a nice, strong, and shallow swing plane...
Before and after you hit these 500 drivers you must do what? STRETCH.

One of the most overlooked and important attributes a long ball beast must posses is flexibility! A long ball hitter must be flexible in his/her wrists, shoulders, back, and hips... You do not necessarily need brute strength to generate speed in a golf swing, but you with out a doubt need to be flexible!

You must be flexible in areas you would never think of stretching... Like your shoulders.. The reason sooooo many golfers left arms break down, or fold during the back swing is from lack of shoulder flexibility. Stretch your shoulders....
Try the long long swing....
